Bowling Alley in Springs Under New Ownership

A love for bowling and the small community they call home served as key factors in Eric and Betsy Schroeder’s decision to purchase the bowling alley located on Main Street in Wessington Springs. 

“We knew the previous owners were ready to sell and we wanted to keep it alive and going,” Betsy said with enthusiasm. “It’s something for kids and families to do in the wintertime and we didn’t want our town to lose it.” 

The Schroeders explained that last week the purchase was made official but they have been talking to the previous owners since July and agreed on a price over the summer. 

“We bowl a lot for fun and when my family from Alexandria is in town, we bring them here,” Eric said. “Not many small towns have a bowling alley. What we have here in Springs is unique.”
