Colony closed

Starting last week, a new sign alerted visitors to stop before entering Spring Valley Colony in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus into the colony community.

While business continues at the colony, extra precautions such as social distancing, limiting visitors and urging colony residents to stay home have been put in place. Acknowledging that “there are a lot of unknowns in this situation,” the colony is doing its part to “flatten the curve” taking planning and preparation for future events -- such as the popular farmer’s market in Wessington Springs -- one day at a time.
