As with many other weather-related postponements this wet spring, Shakespeare Garden Society members and volunteers made the best of the situation and put their garden tools and hands to work albeit a day later than originally planned.
Work included planting the dozens of flower beds that embellish the landscape, digging holes for new trees, cleaning the fish pond and making the garden the stunning, serene destination that has drawn visitors from all over the world to Wessington Springs.
The historic garden has been a major attraction in the community for many years, hosting the popular "Music in the Garden" summer series, “Afternoon Tea at the Cottage,” as well as various holiday special events. New this year, it also serves as the serene setting for “Yoga in the Garden” (more on PAGE SEVEN in the e-issue). It has also been the site of many weddings, reunions and other family gatherings.
