Foothills Days slated for August 6-7

The “City at the Foothills” is continuing its city-wide celebration of food, fun and the classics with exciting events during the third annual “Foothills Days” on August 6 and 7, all held in Wessington Springs. 

On Friday, the Mayor’s Classic Golf Tournament will kick off the festivities at the Springs Country Club. Later that same day, from 6 - 9 p.m. the Wessington Springs Volunteer Fire Department will host “Fun Fest” at the fire hall. This annual event serves as the fundraiser for WSVFD and provides the community a night of fun, food and drinks for the entire family.

Registration for the Annual Foothills Classic featuring cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles begins at 10 a.m. The event always provides a fun afternoon for all ages with registration until 12 p.m., show time from 12 - 4 p.m. and a kids pedal pull at 1 p.m.
Rolling into the evening, head to the city park for the third annual Ribfest. The outdoor BBQ rib competition event begins at 4 p.m. with live music, plus plenty of food and drinks served up by the Wessington Springs Area Chamber & Development. New this year, extended hours and two bands will be featured at the celebration. Special guest Hidden Timber Band from the Pierre area will kick off Ribfest at 4 p.m. followed by South dakota favorite Dustin Evans and the Good Times Band from 7 - 11 p.m. More details about how to enter the Ribfest competition is located in this week's print and e-issue on PAGE TWO
