Golf tourney raises money for Spartan golf team

The First Annual Jack Ferguson Memorial Golf Tournament kicked off the golf tourney season at the Springs Country Club in Wessington Springs. The event was held on May 30 and proceeds raised went toward Spartan athletics, specifically the Wessington Springs Middle/High School Golf Team. Shown above left to right during a $1510 check presentation are: WSHS golfers Jacob Messmer, Blake Larson, Head Golf Coach Regina Teveldal, Jean Ferguson on behalf of the Jack Ferguson family and Brock Krueger, WSHS golf team member. 

The kick-off to a fun-filled, tournament-stacked summer became official at the Springs Country Club over Memorial weekend with the Jack Ferguson Memorial Golf Tournament.

Next up at the country club is the 9th Annual Brett Boomer Memorial Golf Classic, slated for June 12. The entry fee is $50 per person,and includes green fees for 18 holes of golf, cart (two players /cart), food, cold beverages, and transportation to and from the golf course. Proceeds from the event benefit the Alpena Volunteer Fire Department.

July 23 - Donna Rae Memorial Golf Tournament

July 31 - Golfin’ For a Cause

August 6 - Mayor’s Classic

August 13 - Couples Night 

August 15 - Youth/Adult Tournament

September 10 - Couples Night

 September 19 - Youth/Adult Tournament
