Small-town hospitality shines during Independence Week
Locals, visitors and returning alumni didn’t know quite what to expect of Fourth of July festivities this year with Independence Day falling in the middle of the week.
But the Wednesday holiday proved to draw big crowds to the lineup of events on the Fourth of July and lay the groundwork for a fun-filled weekend to follow.
From barrel racing to a 5K run and patriotic parade to a dazzling fireworks display shot by the Wessington Springs Volunteer Fire Department, there truly was something for everyone during Independence Day week in Wessington Springs.
