Kids of all ages enjoyed a pre-Christmas visit with Santa on December 23. This year marked the event's return to City Hall in Wessington Springs after eight years.

With the dissolving of the Wessington Springs Area Chamber of Commerce in March 2015, several organizations were approached to take over events which the Chamber had coordinated. Springs Area Community Club (SACC) agreed to take over Santa Saturday, holding it in conjunction with their chili feed at the Senior Center in recent years.

This year, area Santa fans welcomed him as he arrived by fire truck courtesy of the Wessington Springs Volunteer Fire Department at 11 a.m.  Kids had the opportunity to visit with Santa and his pals The Grinch and Jolly Elf until 12:30 p.m.

Thanks to Dennis and Sandy Beckman, each child who visited City Hall on Santa Saturday received a treat bag full of goodies.
