Weather permitting, an oil crew will be in Wessington Springs the week of August 12 - 16 to chip seal a variety of roads around town, including Main Street.
City street superintendent Dan Kruse explains that an exact date for the Main Street closure won’t be possible to pin down until just before the crew notifies the city of their arrival.
“It comes down to  a one-day inconvenience but it has to be done to prevent deterioration and an effective moisture barrier on  Main Street,” Kruse said.
Once the city is notified of the oil crew’s exact arrival, a sign notifying business owners and patrons will be posted on Main Street. Notifications will also be made on the True Dakotan website and social media outlets.
