While plenty of time-tested traditions have returned with the 2019 holiday season, the emergence of new traditions put into motion by area volunteers and businesses have added a little extra sparkle to Christmastime this year. Holiday hometown spirit filled the city park over the weekend, as throngs of families flocked to enjoy an afternoon of sledding, ice skating and horse drawn sleigh and wagon rides given courtesy of the Kyle Evans Memorial Wagon Train members.
Despite the frigid, single digit temperatures, kids and adults alike donned skates and jumped on sleds, while others chose to roast marshmallows and make s’mores outside of the field house.
The magic of the season is evident across the county, and as we continue to enjoy covering your time-tested and new traditions in the newspaper, we hope your holiday season is spiritually rewarding. May your New Year bring health, joy and the opportunity to continue celebrating and creating traditions with those you love.
