At a special meeting held at city hall in Wessington Springs Monday night, a new councilman was appointed to fill the vacancy in Ward One after Tim Holzwarth, who previously filled that position, resigned. Ryan Knipfer will serve as Ward One city councilman for the remainder of Holzwarth’s term, which expires in April 2020.

Knipfer will join Ward One councilman, Aaron Roesler (two-year term expires April 2021), Kim Schultz, Ward Three (one-year term expires April 2020), Joe Hettinger, Ward Three (two-year term expires April 2021), Mark Gran, Ward Two (two-year term expires April 2020), Jason Hine, Ward Two (two-year term expires April 2021) and Mayor Kathy Voorhees (two-year term expires April 2020) on the council.
