Respect was the star of the show during a Good Character Assembly held at the elementary school gymnasium last week as part of the Character Counts program that has thrived in the Wessington Springs School District for nearly a decade.  “Do Right” t-shirts, sponsored by Springs Food Market, are given to kids who have shown exemplary character in four of the six Character Count pillars. Kids recognized last Friday are shown at right, left to right: Kevin Serrano, Mitchell Orth, Micah Orth, Paxton Walz, Tucker Thompson, Mercedes Jones, Jada Kolousek and Will Bruckner.

“I believe in the Character Counts program and enjoy helping by providing an additional incentive for kids to do right,” said Ryan Jensen, Springs Food Market owner shown at far right. “Kids love t-shirts and by wearing them, it reminds others to always try to do right.”
