Jerauld County locals aren’t the only fans of Music in the Garden, the popular summer series held on the south lawn of Shakespeare Garden throughout July.
“We are pleased to have devoted fans such as a Mitchell couple who enjoy riding their motor cycle over to Wessington Springs for the concerts,” said Mary Jane Belz, Music in the Garden organizer.
Pictured above are the couple, Dr. Timothy Drake and his wife Pat, ready to head back to Mitchell after the Plains Folk concert last week.
“Songs of the Sixties” headlines summer series tonight
This week’s free Music in the Garden concert will feature songs of the 1960s. Featured performers will be singers from the Wessington Springs area. Approximately 28 local musicians plan to entertain this week’s audience with renditions of favorite songs from that memorable decade.
The Springs Inn will be selling suppers from 6 – 7 p.m. with the concert taking place from 7 – 8 p.m.
In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the 1905 Opera House. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs.
