Trucks and trailers filled with a wide variety of livestock and rodeo contestants from around South Dakota and neighboring states drew a nice-sized crowd to the Foothills Rodeo grounds in Wessington Springs over the weekend.

After a rainy, cold start to spring, abundant sunshine and mild temperatures welcomed contestants and attendees to the Saturday events. Sunday’s weather brought more of the same with a breeze and some light cloud cover, making the refreshment stand operated by the Wessington Springs Volunteer Fire Department a popular destination.
