The Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks suffered the first loss of the season at Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan last Friday by a score of 41-0.

The Blackhawks started the game well as they received the opening kickoff and drove down to inside the Seahawks 20-yard-line, but turned the ball over on downs. Wesley Linke got the ball back for the Blackhawks on an interception and the Blackhawks again drove inside the 20 but came up empty.

After both teams exchanging punts, the Seahawks got on the board midway through the second quarter on a long touchdown pass.   After a Blackhawk turnover, the Seahawks struck again on a touchdown run. The Blackhawks got a late stop at the goal line right before halftime and were able to get the ball past midfield but ran out of time.

BEE added to their lead with two touchdown runs in the third quarter and two more in the fourth quarter.

Trey Ulmer led the Blackhawk offense with 94 yards rushing on 10 carries.  Alex Wormstadt added 65 yards rushing on eight carries.   Rylie Stevens led the defense with 10 tackles.  Tyler Eddy added eight tackles and Wesley Linke had six tackles and one interception.
