Alyssa Grohs had seven points during last weeks 31-22 victory over JVC.

Last week the girls varsity basketball team lost two games.

On Tuesday, the Spartan girls were defeated by Kimball/White Lake (KWL) by a score of 63-34.  The girls hung around for most of the first half, but could not consistently hit shots and trailed 28-13 at halftime.  KWL had a big third quarter to extend the lead to 49-23 and the Spartans could not recover.  Grace Gran led the scoring with 13 points.  Avery Orth pulled down six rebounds. 

On Friday, the Spartan girls played their last regular season game at James Valley Christian and were defeated by a score of 48-24.   The Spartans played a tough first quarter defensively and led 6-4 at the end of one quarter.  However, JVC got hot in the second quarter and the Spartans could not answer the score which was 28-12 at halftime.   JVC outscored the Spartans 20-12 in the second half to make the final 48-24.   Kirstie Munsen and Avery Orth each had four points.   Avery also had five rebounds and Grace Gran pulled down five rebounds.  

JV Girls Basketball Recap

Last Tuesday at Kimball, the Spartan JV Girls basketball team defeated KWL by a score of 29-20.   The JV team trailed 10-8 at halftime.  The Spartans had a big second half outscoring KWL 21-10 to pull out the win. Avery Orth led the scoring with nine points,  Alyssa Grohs had eight points and Harlee Heim had six points. 

On Friday the Spartan JV team won their last game of the year over JVC by a score of 31-22.   The Spartan JV Girls jumped out to an early lead after one quarter leading 9-2.   The Spartans maintained that lead into halftime 18-10.   JVC cut the lead to 20-15 heading into the fourth quarter.   The Spartans outscored JVC 11-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the 31-22 victory.   Harlee Heim led the scoring with 11 points.  Alyssa Grohs had seven points and Carissa Scheel had five points.  

The Spartan Girls JV ends their season with a record of 13-5.
