Game One of the state tournament saw Wessington Springs (WS) facing Parkston. 

The game was low scoring and a pitcher’s duel.  Parkston scored one run in the third inning, one run in the fifth, and one in the sixth.  Wessington Springs’ lone run came in the sixth inning.  Springs outhit Parkston 9-5, but could not put together any timely hits.  WS left 10 runners on base in the game.  Coen Harvey took the loss going 5 2/3 innings and giving up only three hits while striking out six.  He was relieved by Cayden Slykhuis and Mason Scheske.  Leading hitters for Wessington Springs in the game were Clay Olinger and Cayden Slykhuis, each with two.  The loss moved Wessington Springs into the consolation bracket.
