From the halls of WSHS we begin our Artist's Corner for the school year. It has been wonderful being able to see the art students in person and get the year off to a great start! The first project we bring is from Advanced Art III senior, Mackenzie Roduner. Mackenzie chose to make her own stretched canvas and create an oil painting that represented the beautiful Native American culture. Mackenzie really wanted her painting to have a textured look and feel, so she applied the oil paint with a palette knife in a rougher and less blended manner. She really worked hard to get the paint to blend a little…but not too much. She also had to be very careful with applying certain colors next to each other as some colors don’t look the best blended together. Overall, Mackenzie was able to achieve a lovely, Impressionistic style painting with bright and bold colors!
