Quinten Christensen, a Wessington Springs High School graduate, hometown football standout and senior starting offensive lineman for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, surprised Wessington Springs Elementary School students during the school’s end-ofyear Accelerated Reading assembly earlier this month. Christensen presented reading awards to students in each grade level and encouraged them to continue building strong reading habits, noting that reading will help them throughout their lives “in everything they do.” Students also had the opportunity to high five Christensen following the assembly, where many had shirts, hats, fan gear and photos signed by the hometown hero.
