Karen Kelsey, age 78, of Alpena, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital at Wessington Springs.Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 15, at the Alpena Community Center.Visitation with family present will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.

Brenda Bak passed peacefully to her heavenly home on April 6, 2026, in Pierre, SD.Brenda Marie was born in Huron, South Dakota on January 14, 1949, to Alice (Winter) and Melvin Brosz.

JOELYNE BEACH

Joelyne Annette Beach, age 90 of York, NE, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in York. She was born on March 6, 1936 to Harold and Blanche (Bowling) Mentzer in Wessington Springs, SD. She attended country schools in Buffalo Co, and graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1954.

Vera Weber, age 90, of Wessington Springs, met the Lord in the late afternoon of May 14, 2026. Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Foothills Bible Fellowship Church in Wessington Springs. Burial followed at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

GENE FASTNACHT

Gene Garvin Fastnacht, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, and steadfast friend, passed away on May 5, 2026, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 79. Services to celebrate Gene’s life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Pierre SD.

Judy (Sprague) Baumgart, age 84, of Wessington Springs, died peacefully on Sunday April 19, 2026 at Avera Weskota Manor in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Wilfrid Catholic Church in Woonsocket.

David Frederick Jensen, 68, of Wessington Springs, South Dakota, passed away on April 22, 2026. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2026, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs. Burial followed at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m.
