Monday November 13, 2023, nine members attended the Senior Community Center meeting.
The Minutes and Treasurer’s reports were read and approved.
It’s bingo time at the Senior Community Center on Sunday November 19 from 2-4 p.m. We will have several Thanksgiving themed prizes to give for winning bingo cards. The two blackout game prizes will be turkeys! After the bingo fun there will be free cookies and coffee to enjoy. All ages are invited, not just the elderly, so come spend an afternoon of fun with friends, family and neighbors.
The Senior Center hosts fun activities throughout the year including bingo, Festival of Tables, Ice Cream Social after the 4th of July Parade, homemade pie and ice cream after the homecoming parade, meals Monday through Friday and other social activities.
To host these activities and more we are conducting a membership drive to involve more citizens who want to help keep this organization going for current and future generations. Membership is $20 per person per year. Membership involves more than paying the yearly dues, it also enables you to have social contact with your community by helping to make pies, cookies, bars and helping with the various activities, many hands make light work and a lot more fun. Members are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting after the noon meal on the second Monday of the month and help provide fresh ideas. If you are interested in membership, come to dinner at the Senior Center and ask any member how to join.
Meals are served Mondays through Fridays and cost $5 for seniors 60 years of age or older, $8 for younger patrons, everyone welcome. Menus are available at the Senior Center or printed each week in True Dakotan. Please call 539-9331 by 9 a.m. that day to reserve a meal.
