Developmental screenings set for Sept. 16 at area schools

Families with children from birth to age 5 in the Wessington Springs and Wolsey-Wessington school districts will have an opportunity to learn more about their child’s developmental progress during screenings Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Personnel from Core Educational Cooperative and each school district will screen children in the areas of vision, hearing, language, motor and developmental skills. Results will be available to families the day of the screening.

The Wessington Springs School District screening will be held from 9-11 a.m. in the Wessington Springs Elementary Gym. Appointments are required and may be made by calling 605-539-9311.

The Wolsey-Wessington School District screening will follow from 1-3 p.m. in the Wolsey-Wessington School Gym. Appointments are required and may be made by calling 605-883-4221.

The screenings are intended to help families identify developmental milestones their children have mastered and areas where additional support may be beneficial.
