Friday, August 2
On Friday, the seventh annual Firemen’s FunFest will be held at the Wessington Springs Fire Hall from 6 - 10 p.m. Come out and enjoy the burgers, brats, and beer that will be served until 9 p.m. with inflatables and games for the kids. When the sun goes down, head to the tennis courts for a free movie in the park. The Cody and Deanna Hasty family are once again hosting the event, with live-action/animated sports comedy film “Space Jam” on the silver screen.
Saturday, August 3
On Saturday, start your day right with a little exercise. Registration for the Annual Weskota Foundation Walk/Run starts at 7 a.m. at the Wessington Springs Fire Hall. Rolling right into the evening, be sure to grab a lawn chair and some friends for Rockin’ RibFest. The event begins at 4 p.m. and will rock the park through 11 p.m., featuring a rib cook-off, cornhole tournament, beer garden, kid zone and free snow cones. New to the event this year is the Show n’ Shine Car Show. Admission is free. Grab a bite to eat from the food vendors or BBQ rib competitors and listen to live music by Surfin’ Safari and Dustin Evans & The Good Times Band.
