Spartanbots Claim Grand Champion Title

Wessington Springs Robotics Team Shines at Eastern Regional Competition in Sioux Falls

    The junior and senior Spartanbots traveled to Sioux Falls earlier this month to compete in the Eastern Regional Competition in Sioux Falls. Competition spanned the categories of robot runs, robot design, core values and innovation project. The senior team brought home the title of Grand Champion, which shows exceptional skills in multiple categories. Senior team members include Payton Fraiser, Houston Havlik, Harley Heber, Grace Jackson, Will Jackson, Crawleigh Reiner, Jalene Reiner and Maverick Roduner.

    The junior team placed 11 out of 22 in robot run and had rave reviews on their innovation project. This team includes: Haven Heber, Devin Mentele, Kershaw Reiner, Crew Wenzel, Dee Zastrow and Otto Zastrow.

    Both teams will compete at state on March 8 at Augustana at Sioux Falls. Look for more information on the Spartanbots plus interviews with team in upcoming editions of the True Dakotan.
