The rumble of engines and a heavy dose of small-town spirit will return to Alpena on Saturday, July 26, 2025, as the Alpena Fire Department hosts its Annual Tractor Pull. This family-friendly event serves as a fundraiser for the local volunteer fire department and promises a full day of horsepower, competition, and entertainment.
Held southwest of the Red Hog in Alpena, the day will kick off with a Kids Pedal Pull at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Car Show at noon, and the main Tractor Pull starting at 1 p.m. with live entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Tractor pull classes will include Stock, Speed Limit, and Open classes for weights ranging from 2,500 to 9,500 pounds.
Specific divisions include:
• Division 1: Stock hitches, no cut tires, stock weights
• Division 2: 20” hitch, 3.5 MPH speed limit, no cut tires, maximum tire size 15.5–38, up to 6,000 lbs. (Wheelie bars required for tractors over 6,500 lbs.)
• Division 3: 18.4–38 max tire size, full cut tires, 20” hitch, 5 MPH speed limit, and open speed limits (Wheelie bars required) Cash jackpots will be awarded for the 5,500 lb. 5 MPH class and 5,000 lb. 3.5 MPH class, with additional payouts for jackpot divisions. Trophies will be given in all other classes.
A highlight of the event is the Featured Team Event, where a 5,000 lb. 3.5 MPH tractor and a 5,500 lb. 5.5 MPH tractor will be randomly teamed up through a poker chip draw. The team with the best total combined distance over two hooks will receive an additional jackpot prize.

Admission is free, and concessions and beer will be available on-site. Coolers are not allowed.
