The Weskota Foundation is hosting its annual flower fundraiser under a new name, Bouquets Just Because, formerly known as Roses Just Because.
Foundation Coordinator Ellen Powell said the board decided to switch from single roses to mixed bouquets because they last longer and are more cost-effective, hopefully allowing the fundraiser to support even more local residents.
The event benefits the Springs Area Bus senior meal transportation program, which helps deliver meals to area seniors.
This year’s bouquets will be supplied by Ranchy Stems, with the foundation rotating between Jerauld County flower shops going forward. Ranchy Stems will provide flowers in 2026, while 2nd and Bloom will participate in 2027, as part of a board effort to support both local businesses equally.
Bouquets are $20 each, with tickets on sale through Feb. 27. Purchases can be made at Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital or by calling 605539-1201.
Bouquet Pick-Up Dates
Bouquets may be picked up Tuesday, March 24, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the hospital ambulance garage Wednesday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to noon at the hospital business office The Weskota Foundation will also sell tickets at local basketball games throughout February.
