“Gifts that help the community continue to thrive”
The Wessington Springs Area Community Foundation (WSACF) recently awarded grants totaling $8,150 to seven groups as a part of its mission to help fund local organizations and projects which help keep Wessington Springs a desirable community in which we live and work, and to promote a thriving hometown for those who come to visit.
Awards for the current grant cycle were given to: the AWANA program for help with curriculum and supplies; the Kyle Evans Western Heritage Center for assistance with the cost of heating and cooling of the new museum; Wessington Springs Athletic Hall of Fame for help with the cost of plaques and awards; Dunham Historical Society for assistance with the cost of light replacement in the museum; Wessington Springs Area Chamber & Development for help with the cost of a portable storage shed; FCCLA for Robbie Hine’s senior project and Karter Mebius’ senior projects. Both students are taking on improvements in the city park.
The James and Bernice Burg Family Fund also awarded a grant to help fund the Wessington Springs Area Chamber & Development project.
