Wessington Springs Pool – August 15–17
With summer winding down, Wessington Springs Pool lifeguards are making sure the season ends on a high note with three days of themed fun, games, and free treats. The End-of-Season Pool Party, set for Friday through Sunday, August 15–17, is being planned by the pool’s lifeguards in partnership with the Wessington Springs City Park Committee. Together, they’ve put together a weekend designed to bring the community together for one last splash before the municipal pool closes for the year.
Friday, August 15 – Float and Float Day
The festivities kick off Friday afternoon from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Swimmers are encouraged to bring their favorite pool float and enjoy a leisurely day on the water. At 2:45 p.m., break time will feature free root beer floats for all swimmers.
Saturday, August 16 – Games and Goodies
Saturday brings friendly competition with relay games planned from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or just looking for some fun, there will be activities for all ages. At 2:45 p.m., free cookies and milk will be served.
Sunday, August 17 – Sports and Sunset Celebration
The final day of the season doubles as Sports Day. From 1 to 5:30 p.m., visitors can jump in on games of water basketball and volleyball. At 5:30 p.m., free hot dogs will be served poolside. As the sun sets, the celebration continues with Football Night from 7 to 9 p.m. Pool patrons are invited to bring a football and enjoy some splashy passes under the evening sky.
Organizers say the goal is to celebrate the community and summer memories while offering something fun for every age group. With free snacks and themed activities, they hope to see a strong turnout from locals and visitors alike.
The Wessington Springs Pool will close for the season after the Sunday evening event, so swimmers are encouraged to grab their swimsuits, bring their friends and help send summer off in style.
