Wolsey elections canceled due to unopposed candidates

Voters in Wolsey will not head to the polls for two local elections scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, after all open positions drew unopposed candidates.

The Wolsey Fire Protection District election has been canceled, as three individuals filed petitions for the three available board positions. Dean Stevens, David Struck and Eric Hiles will each serve three-year terms. Because the candidates are unopposed, certificates of election will be issued in the same manner as if the election had been held.

Similarly, the municipal election for the Wolsey Town Board of Trustees has also been canceled. Incumbent Craig Heller was the only candidate to file a petition for the open position and will be issued a certificate of election.
