Wolsey-Wessington HOSA Members Compete, Earn Top Honors at State

Nine Wolsey-Wessington students attended and competed at the HOSA (Future Health Professionals) State Leadership Conference in Sioux Falls, SD on April 16–17, held at the Sanford Pentagon. During the conference, students engaged in breakout sessions and explored opportunities at a career carnival and college/ career fair.

In addition, students toured the Avera Sports Performance Center and learned about careers in athletic training, exercise physiology, physical therapy, and strength and conditioning.

Students competed in various events at the state conference: Nursing Assisting-Amanah Woodruff; Surgical Tech-Ava Beerman; Pharmacy Science (1st place)-Irelyn Salisbury; Health Education-Marley Boomsma, Allison Hulst, Lily Hoverson, Taylor Eichstadt; Mental Health Promotion (top 5)-Amanah Woodruff, Irelyn Salisbury, Kendal Uttecht, Allison Hulst, Taylor Eichstadt.
