After 46 years, Niemeyers hope to pass Springs Inn tradition to new owners
After more than 46 years of serving the Wessington Springs community, Jon and Carla Niemeyer stand in the dining room of the Springs Inn Café, where they’ve welcomed generations of customers since 1980. Health concerns have prompted the couple to seek new owners who will carry on the Main Street restaurant’s longtime tradition.
When Jon and Carla Niemeyer agreed to help at her parents' restaurant for "a little while" in April 1980, the newlyweds had no idea that little while would turn into a lifetime.
More than 46 years later, the couple is hoping someone else will discover the same opportunity they found at the Springs Inn Cafe in Wessington Springs.
But the decision to sell the Main Street institution hasn't come easily…
