The Alpena Volunteer Fire Department’s (AVFD) Annual Tractor pull is set to take place on July 29. A full afternoon of entertainment includes a car show at 12 p.m. and a tractor pull at 1 p.m.
Billed for the entire family, this fun event serves as the AVFD’s annual fundraiser. No admission is required and beer and other concessions will be provided, so no coolers please.
Classes include: stock, speed limit and open classes 2500 - 9500. Div 1- stock hitches, no cut tires, stock weights. Div 2 - 20' hitch, 3.5 Mph, no cut tires, 15.5-38 Max tire size to 6,000 lbs. 16.9-38 Tires 6,500 lbs, 18.4-38 7,500 Lbs and up (must have wheelie bars). Div 3 -18.4-38 Max tire size, full cut tires, 20' hitch, 5 mph and open speed limits (must have wheelie bars). Jackpot cash pay outs for 5,500 Lb. 5 Mph class and 5,000 lb. 3.5 Mph class. Added cash payouts for jackpot classes. Trophies awarded in all other classes. The featured team event will include 15,000lb. 3.5 Mph tractor and 15,500lb 5.5mph tractor will be teamed up by poker chip draw. Best total combined distance of two hooks will win an additional jackpot prize. NATPA general rules will be followed featuring hot foot sled.
