Winter Storm Olive to Pack Blizzard Conditions, Heavy Snow, Ice
Bracing for what the National Weather Service has deemed “a significant impact for much of the region,” blizzard conditions are expected Wednesday and Thursday. Widespread snow and strong winds will continue to develop during the day Wednesday. The storm is expected to intensify Wednesday night with travel becoming disrupted or impossible over multiple states.
In the Jerauld County area, snow accumulation is predicted to be in the 8-12 inch range.
Winds will continue well through Thursday as wind chills plummet.
After the snow and wind, storm recovery may be hindered by a sharp drop in temperatures with wind chills Thursday into Friday likely falling between -20 and -40F.
