Jerauld County poll workers were met with a line of registered voters eager to cast their ballots in the general election early Tuesday morning, with voter turnout remaining steady throughout the day. With a ballot chock full of candidates running in races for US Senator, US Representative, South Dakota Governor, a wide range of state positions, Supreme Court Justice, Third Circuit Judges plus Constitutional Amendment D and Initiated Measure 27, voters are faced with some hefty decisions this election cycle. Jerauld County Election Supervisor Teresa Fonder stated that 152 absentee requests had been made in Jerauld County prior to election day with a total of 877 ballots cast and 70.72% voter turnout across the county.
