Family Fun Night Draws Crowd to Explore Local Health Care Services in Wessington Springs

A crowd of about 100 turned out for the Wessington Springs Health Care Campus Family Fun Night, enjoying a free meal, visiting with local health care providers and exploring the many services available close to home.

Guests could also take guided tours of the campus to learn more about the health care options offered right in Wessington Springs, and door prizes were given away throughout the evening.

Kids like Octavia Kurth and Paxton Plooster had a blast in the bounce house maze, while the Springs Council for the Arts offered crafts “because art is good for health, too,” noted organizer Ellen Powell of the Weskota Foundation. Powell said the event, which replaced the former Women’s Expo, drew a great turnout under perfect fall weather.

“This event is about connecting with the community and reminding everyone that the health care campus is here to support them close to home,” Powell said.
