Frigid temps bring wind chill warning to area

Blizzard warning also in effect from Friday midnight to Saturday midnight 

A wind chill warning remains in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to Noon Tuesday across portions of South Dakota including Jerauld County and surrounding areas. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 45 below zero are expected. 

A blizzard warning has also been issued beginning at midnight Friday, January 12. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph are expected causing snow accumulations of one inch and visibilities down to a quarter mile.

The National Weather Service urges extreme caution when traveling outside, as wind chills could cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes.
