Music, laughter and the aroma of grilled burgers and brats filled the fire hall as hundreds of community members and visitors to town showed their support for the Wessington Springs Volunteer Fire Department last Friday.
“We are very happy with the turnout,” said Fire Chief Jim Vavra, about the more than 300 people who gathered for the fifth annual event. “We are so fortunate to have the community’s support and want to express our thanks to all who attended.”
The event serves as a fundraiser to help pay for necessary equipment and operational costs throughout the year.
