With plenty of snow strategically piled high across Jerauld County and no sight of spring, the True Dakotan checked with local weather recorder, Kathy Voorhees about the stats for January. She reported 13 inches of snow for the month with .44 inches of moisture. The average snowfall in January is 6 inches with .56 inches of moisture according to US Climate Data. Moisture content of the snowfall indicates that our drought problems won’t be soon solved despite the abundance of the white stuff.
