Thanks to generous donations received through this week, ROCS announced it will continue Sunday transportation to worship services via the Springs Area Bus through October 26, 2025. Additionally, Meals on Wheels deliveries will continue uninterrupted through November 28, 2025. The community’s swift response has helped preserve these essential services for Wessington Springs residents.
After the June 24 announcement that church rides and Meals on Wheels services would end without securing $1,500 in monthly funding, concern grew within the Wessington Springs community. This amount includes $525 needed to fund Sunday transportation to worship services and $975 to continue five-day-a-week meal delivery. The urgency of the situation was highlighted in recent True Dakotan print and e-editions.
