LOCAL STUDENTS CELEBRATE FFA WEEK

National FFA Week is February 17-24, an occasion that will be celebrated by FFA participants, alumni and supporters across the state and country. Wessington Springs has a full list of activities to get students, teachers and the community involved to celebrate FFA and agricultural education. This includes their Wessington Springs FFA Chapter doing everything from dress up days to Ag Olympics to giving elementary school presentations to teach young students about agriculture. Below is the line up for the week.

Monday: Farm and Home Show booth.

Tuesday: Dress Up camo day and burger feed for members and staff.

Wednesday: Hat day and FFA Breakfast in the Shop for the community starting at 7:15 a.m.

Thursday: Cowboy day and Ag in the Classroom Elementary School Presentations.

Friday: FFA/Ag Pride Day and Ag Olympics. The community is invited to watch events that start at 2:30 p.m. at the main elementary school gym. Ag Olympics includes two rounds of obstacle courses, wheelbarrow races, roping, water bucket carry and much more. Seniors vs. juniors and freshman vs. sophomores make up round one with winners playing each other in the second round.
