Moving Day Makes Main Street Building Swap a Reality
Following months of behind-the-scenes work and carefully-planned logistics, the mutually beneficial plan for two longtime Jerauld County entities to swap buildings on Main Street was solidified Monday.
Moving trucks were carefully loaded with dozens of vintage display cases that house precious Jerauld County Pioneer Museum artifacts, then made their way east on Main Street to deliver the museum contents to their new home in Jensen’s True Value building.
As the museum was emptied, trailers filled with goods and products from the hardware and variety store were unloaded and placed into storage areas within the former museum, carefully tucked away as demolition and remodeling started right away Tuesday.
Jensen’s True Value continues to serve customers at its original location until renovations and a final move of product is complete, set to be finalized by April 15.
