With construction complete and carpet and shelving installed at Jensen’s new location connected to the grocery store, the task of moving the store’s contents is underway. During moving, the old location will be temporarily closed while setting up the new store.
“We are excited for the transition to have both of our businesses adjacent to one another. Unfortunately, we will need to be closed for a short time to set up the new store and be ready for customers when we open the doors,” said Ryan Jensen, owner of Jensen's and Springs Food Market with sister Lisa Younie. “Our phones will be forwarded to the grocery store for the time being. We will still be able to serve your painting needs so please call 605-539-9761 if you need assistance.”
Following months of behind the-scenes work and carefully planned logistics, the mutually beneficial plan for two longtime Jerauld County entities to swap buildings on Main Street was solidified last month as the Jerauld County Pioneer Museum was emptied and put into storage at its new location -- Jensen's.
The museum board, alongside Younie and Jensen say the move is a win-win. A win for the museum, enabling many possibilities when it comes to space so that the board can make their vision of expansion and interactive displays a reality. A gain for Jensen and Younie, to run both of their businesses within one building.
Grand opening dates of Jensen's and the museum have yet to be determined. Look to upcoming editions of the True Dakotan for further information.
