New Event Thursday: Art in the Park

Let your inner artist show by attending the Art in the Park event on Thursday, July 25, from 12- 2 p.m. in the Wessington Springs City Park by the field house. Activities include rock painting, sketching, watercolors, flower hammering and origami. This event is free and all ages are welcome.

Later that day, there will be a drawing class held at Shakespeare Garden at 5:30 p.m. led by artist, Kenzee Schafer and retired art teacher, Joanne Colman. This event is limited to 12 so make sure to pre-register at wspringsarts@gmail.com or message @ SACOTAWessingtonSprings on Facebook. The cost is $5 to register. The backup location for these events is at the field house.

These events are hosted by the Springs Area Council Of The Arts (SACOTA) with the goal of supporting and promoting the arts in Wessington Springs.

Events like these are made possible by local fundraising including the May membership drive.

“Thanks to everyone for supporting our activities and programs. Please reach out to us with any ideas you may have for more events like these. We would love to work with different groups, organizations or businesses,” SACOTA board member Carrie Azure shared.
