With a deep obsession for music and passion to pay tribute to the storied history of a Sioux Falls bar and live music venue, Wessington Springs native Austin Kaus and fellow filmmaker Jesse Yost set out to tell a uniquely South Dakota story in their documentary, “The Pomp Room: A Rock N Roll Bar Story.” Kaus brought the film to Wessington Springs for a hometown screening at the Historic Opera House Friday, November 25, and was met with a full house and great reviews.“The stage where I used to act in and direct plays is now where I get to introduce a movie that I am so, so proud of, “ Kaus said. “Seeing – and laughing with – this amazing crowd was nothing less than Wessington Springs magic.” Due to popular demand, the possibility of a second screening later in December is currently being explored.
