A pagoda gas station, formerly Firesteel Station in the 1930s, has been moved from its original location on Whiskey Road east of Wessington Springs to Main Street in Woonsocket and back to Springs over the past 90 years. It is shown above, photographed on Tuesday this week, at its current location on a residential lot in Wessington Springs.

From 1927 to 1934, pagoda-style Firesteel Station was perched proudly along the old Highway 34 and 281 junction in Jerauld County — now known as Whiskey Road — serving customers Globe Products and Veedol Motor Oil along with an array of refreshments.
