Two Wessington Springs organizations are among the latest recipients of funding through Central Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round-Up program.
The Wessington Springs Senior Center received a $600 grant for facility improvements, while Wessington Springs VFW Teener Baseball was awarded $600 for jerseys and equipment during the program’s most recent round of grant awards.
The grants were part of funding distributed to community projects across Central Electric’s service area. Through the Operation Round-Up program, cooperative members voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the next dollar, with the extra change pooled and awarded to local projects through a competitive grant process.

• Hanson County Child Protection Team: $500 for Open Closet Clothing Program
• Kimball Ambulance: $1,200 for Emergency Radios
• Kimball White Lake Teeball: $800 for Jerseys & Equipment
• Letcher Youth Program: $1,000 for Ballpark Improvements
• Rooted 23: $500 for Ethan School Hope Squad
• Stickney Community Foundation: $500 for Park Improvements
• White Lake Senior Citizens: $500 for Facility Improvements
Operation Round-Up grants are awarded twice each year. The next application deadline is Oct. 30. Organizations interested in applying can find more information through Central Electric Cooperative.
