The second speaker was Deb Doering (shown above), a former EMT in Wessington Springs. She shared her experiences as a Red Cross volunteer. After signing up, her first assignment sent her to provide aid work for three weeks after Hurricane Katrina. She worked at a shelter there and slept on the floor of a closet.
