Thanks to the help of a volunteer group from Central Church of Christ from Moore, OK, the city park has seen some recent improvements.
While in South Dakota helping the Church of Christ in Huron with various projects, the group made the trip to Wessington Springs to do a community service project last month.
City Councilwoman Eva Voorhees, along with members of the Park Beautification Committee helped spearhead the help which included painting the tops and sides of two picnic shelters, painting numerous picnic tables, and the railing at the campground bathrooms.
Volunteers also watered the new grass seeded area on the west side of the pool and around the hill by the concession stand.
Lunch was served to the group by Voorhees and husband Lester.
Before volunteers arrived on scene, prep work was completed by Mike and Terri Mebius, Joyce Krueger and Voorhees.
