Kyle Evans Memorial Wagon Train Rides Again, Community Invited to Campsite Friday
The Kyle Evans Memorial Wagon Train rides again through Saturday September 7.
Attendees gathered Thursday evening for a potluck meal and a branding party at 6 p.m. at the campsite located at 38241 SD Highway 34 in Wessington Springs.
The caravan of riders and wagons set out Friday morning and for those in the community wishing to witness the grand event in motion, the wagon train is set to pass through the Town of Lane between 1 - 2 p.m.
Community invited to wagon train campsite Friday evening
On Friday night, the public is welcome to the campsite located just east of the Wessington Springs sign on Dakota Avenue and Highway 34, and encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy concessions served up by area churches.
Along with live musical entertainment, attendees will have the opportunity to have their portrait drawn by a caricature artist. Artist Hector Curriel will draw caricatures for free courtesy of Springs Area Council of the Arts (SACOTA) from 5 - 7 p.m.
Wagons and riders will arrive in Wessington Springs in time for Saturday’s Bull Bashaction at the Jerauld County 4-H Rodeo Grounds.
