The Wessington Springs Area Community Foundation (WSACF) recently awarded grants totaling $10,150 to six groups as a part of its mission to help fund local organizations and projects which help keep Wessington Springs a desirable community in which we live and work, and to promote a thriving hometown for those who come to visit.
Awards for the current grant cycle were given to: the Summer Rec Program program to help fund improvements to the Little League and softball field; Wessington Springs Chamber and Development / Leap to Lane to help fund equipment and materials for the Lane Community Center; Hope Cemetery Association to help fund replacement fence, gates and the archway at Hope Cemetery; Springs Area Council of the Arts (SACOTA) to assist with funding for the Wessington Springs Elementary Collaborative Mural project; Wessington Springs Senior Citizens Center to help with repair and replacement costs of the concrete slab in front of the entry doors; VFW Post 5548 to help pay for teener baseball uniforms and new catcher’s gear.
