Whitewash Tradition Kicks off WSHS Homecoming Week

The Class of 2023 kicked off WSHS Homecoming week with a splash Sunday night, carrying on the much-loved tradition of whitewashing Main Street and other thoroughfares across town.

From dress up days to coronation and pep rallies to sporting events, the full gamut of daily WSHS Homecoming happenings can be found in one place, listed below.

Monday, September 26
MS/HS Dress Up Days: Neon vs Black (either wear all black or all neon)
Elementary Dress Up Days: Little Elves (wear Christmas PJs, sweatshirts, sweaters)
Cross Country @ Miller - 2 p.m.
JH/JV Blackhawk Football @ Bridgewater - 3:30 p.m.
Volleyball @ Mitchell Christian - JH 6 p.m. / JV 7:15 p.m.

Tuesday, September 27
MS/HS Dress Up Days: Minion Day
Elementary Dress Up Days: Little Turkeys - Spartans are Thankful (wear blue and gold)
Pep Rally open to the public - 8:20-8:55 a.m. @  WS Elementary School gym
Volleyball vs Corsica/Stickney @ Home - JH 4 p.m. / “C” 5:15 p.m. / JV 6:30 p.m. / Varsity 7:15 p.m.
Blackhawk Youth Football @ Hitchcock-Tulare

MS/HS Dress Up Days: PJ Day
Elementary Dress Up Days: Easter Eggers (dress in colorful Easter colors)

MS/HS Dress Up Days: Wear your favorite holiday attire (can be anywhere from a Halloween costume to an ugly Christmas sweater)
Elementary Dress Up Days: Valentine’s - We LOVE the Spartans and Blackhawks (wear red)
Arlington Marching Band FestivalBoys Volleyball Game - 3 p.m.
Coronation @ Elementary School Gym - 7 p.m.

Friday, September 30
MS/HS Dress Up Days: Wear your Homecoming shirt or School Spirt gear
Elementary Dress Up Days: School Spirit Day (dress in Spartan or Blackhawk attire)
Powder Puff Football Game @ Football Field - 11:30 a.m.
Pep Rally open to the public - 12:15 p.m. @ Football Field
Elementary Dismissal - 1 p.m. (Students will be dismissed from football field. No afternoon busses will be running.)
Homecoming Parade - 2 p.m.
Pie and Ice Cream Social - After Homecoming Parade @ WS Senior Center 
Blackhawk Football vs Mobridge-Pollock @ WS (senior night) - 7 p.m
